About
Madura is a retro kissaten in the basement of Osaka Station, operating since 1970. The café has a strong 1970s art deco atmosphere with jazz music, nostalgic décor, and a reliable local character. Reviewers praise the good coffee, cheesecake, and morning sets at very reasonable prices. The staff are polite and friendly, with some English speakers. The café gets busy during lunch and tea times on weekends but seating usually becomes available after a short wait. Note that only cash is accepted, and smoking and non-smoking zones both exist, though not physically separated.
Little is known about working conditions. The café is open Monday to Friday until 8:30 PM and Saturday until 6:00 PM, closed Sundays.
