Manchester Craft and Design Centre
17 Oak Street
About
Manchester Craft and Design Centre is a Victorian building housing independent artists' studios and shops selling handmade jewellery, ceramics, paintings, leather goods and other crafts. The centre has a distinctive glass roof that floods the space with natural light, creating an inspiring atmosphere. Visitors can watch artisans at work in their studios, and some offer classes. Fred's cafe serves coffee, soft drinks, cakes and light meals including sandwiches, with friendly service.
The centre is primarily a shopping and creative space rather than a work-focused venue. There is a cafe where visitors stop for refreshments, but no information is available about Wi-Fi, power outlets, or working conditions for those with laptops.
